Meet the Architects Behind Our Almshouses Restoration
We’re delighted to be working with Matthew Montague Architects on the restoration of our Grade II listed almshouses on London Road, continuing a longstanding relationship with the Trust that spans more than 40 years.
The association began with Derby architect Derek Montague, who founded Montague Architects in 1969. His son, Matthew Montague, went on to establish Matthew Montague Architects in 1998, with the two practices merging in 2017.
Over the years, their work with the Trust has included projects on the Nottingham Road Estate, the conversion of the former Liversage Arms and our award-winning headquarters at 21 Alice Street.
Today, Tom Copestake, Senior Architectural Technologist and Contract Administrator, is leading the practice’s involvement throughout the construction phase. Working closely with the Trust, Allsopp Construction Ltd and conservation specialists, Tom is helping to ensure this important historic restoration is carried out with the care and expertise these listed buildings deserve.
